Why Was WWE Star Emma Released? Wrestler Remains Silent

Now it seems that the company has updated its official press release and is saying goodbye to another two members of the red brand's roster-Darren Young and Summer Rae.

Following her release, Emma acknowledged the news on social media. Most recently, Emma had a pair of matches with the newly-debuted Asuka at the TLC pay-per-view and the following night on Monday Night Raw. It's sad to see Emma go because they tried re-casting her a bunch of times but could never get the storytelling right for someone who I personally think is a pretty good performer.

However after news broke, NXT Superstar Lio Rush made a joke referring to Emma losing to Asuka twice in a row and implying that was the reason she was released.

Emma, real name Tenille Dashwood, began her WWE career in Florida Championship Wrestling, the WWE's developmental system at the time. She had a successful tenure in NXT before being promoted to the main roster where she teamed with Santino Marella. After an incident that led to her doing community service, WWE briefly released her in 2014.

Young was back to wrestling activities now that he's healthy again, but cis appears WWE didn't see much room for him in their company. Her second main roster run, however, was marred by injuries, jobbing, and a failed repackaging as Emmalina, where rumors were management felt she wasn't committed to the role.

There has been no word on exactly what led to Young and Summer Rae's release.
