EA has released a new trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 Single-Player campaign. When we met in Madrid with EA Motive's Art Director, Chris Matthews, and Mitch Dyer, one of the writers of the game's campaign mode, we already knew that Frostbite is the biggest barrier facing this version. but we still had to ask.

The single-player campaign is featured in the game in addition to the sprawling multiplayer mode that spans all three eras of Star Wars films and supports up to 40-player battles.

Battlefront 2 stars Commander Iden Versio, an officer of the Empire who leads the special task force Inferno Squad, and who has a special determination in retaliate against the Rebellion after witnessing the destruction of the second Death Star from the surfice of the moon of Endor. Enter Inferno Squad, an elite Imperial group. Luke! Leia on Naboo! The Empire and its Storm Troopers have typically been the unequivocal bad guys in the Star Wars universe.

The Standard Edition pre-order (available on Amazon for $59) will get you the Star Wars Battlefront II: The Last Jedi Heroes pack, which includes the outfits for Kylo Ren and Rey, the six hero and starfighter epic Star Cards, and the Millennium Falcon with updated sounds and appearance.

And even the original Battlefront was a little light on story and character development, everything we've seen so far from Battlefront II suggests this is the modern Star Wars game we've been waiting for.
