Nokia 9 renders show curved screen, dual camera hump

Many concept images of the flagship smartphone have been leaked online, and now new renders of the Nokia 9 corroborate previous leaks.

It all comes at a premium, mind you, as the Nokia 8 will set you back £499. The news is the closest thing we have to an official statement on the matter, although it does contradict a lot of evidence which suggested the phone would indeed arrive on USA shores. The display of the Nokia 9 will likely be of minimal bezels, and the curved glass sides tops off the sleek design of the device. So it seems HMD is preparing another flagship 'Nokia 9' to fill this gap.

Much has been said about this Nokia 9. But then, whether the device will come with ZEISS powered camera or not is the question which only time will reveal.

Earlier leaks stated that the phone may come with a 5.3-inch quad-HD OLED display. That's despite seemingly credible gossip of "customized" variants of sorts heading for China and the USA this fall, presumably with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage instead of standard 4/64 gig equipment.

The screen doesn't look quite as bezel-free as that on the Galaxy S8, though, but it is bezel-free enough that the fingerprint scanner has been moved to the rear of the device. According to an IDC report, the company shipped 1.5 Million Nokia Android phones in the first half of 2017. Like the most recent flagship smartphones that have been announced, the Nokia 9 will also feature a design that's almost bezel-less. The company's Nokia 8 was officially announced back in August, where HMD confirmed its worldwide availability, leading many to assume that a USA launch was set for the future. Nokia 9 may bridge the gap between the Nokia 6 (available at Rs 14,999) - which is a budget phone and Nokia 8.
