Local group raises money for Puerto Rico

So far, they have collected about $6,000 and have used the money to buy things like fans, mosquito repellent, and other basic necessities.

Medina helped organize North Carolina for Puerto Rico.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers from Florida and across the US are arriving on the island to join local Scientologists in helping the island cope and pull through this awful disaster. "Who knows if they're going to be able to shower or whatnot, but a lot of our officers have family in Puerto Rico". "They have been reached by helicopters only and those people are still waiting", he said.

Alicea said they will ship the containers from Jacksonville and it will take six days for the supplies to get to Puerto Rico.

The donations are coming in from all over, including a large van packed with supplies from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office. "Our hope is that Sunday's community relief effort will help provide some comfort to our fellow citizens here and in Puerto Rico".

In less than two weeks, Medina and the rest of North Carolina for Puerto Rico collected more all of the donations.
