In four days, 2nd attack on ex legislator in Tral

The attack on ex-MLA comes just hours after a woman was killed and another was injured by unidentified gunmen at Tral.

They said a CRPF ASI guarding the residence of Nabi was injured in the attack.

Sources said two militants managed to escape from the area during the course of gunfight.

"The militants also opened fire".

In occupied Kashmir, a woman was shot dead and another injured in an attack in Tral area of Pulwama district, today.

In a separate incident, a militant was killed in an encounter by a joint team of the police and army in north Kashmir's Handwara.

He said militants fired on the search party during the combing operation.

The grenade exploded inside the compound of NC leader's house, causing injury to a CRPF jawan.

According to reports, at around 10 pm gunmen barged into house of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, working as Assistant Sub-Inspector and "vandalised" his residence. The security forces have launched a hunt to nab the assailants.

The attacks on politicians have gone up in the last about a week in south Kashmir.

On Saturday evening, militants ransacked a ruling PDP leader's house in the same area.

Superintendent of Police, Awantipora, Zahid Malik said JeM militant Noor Mohammad Tantray's role has been confirmed in the attack.
