I'd Like to Meet Whoever Thought Up This Young Han Solo Title

It's called Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Anyway, Howard announced it today to celebrate the wrap on filming.

The Star Wars Anthology movie's title theories have been bandied about for months and back in June images of crew T-shirts and baseball caps featuring a logo name (which turned out to be correct) were leaked on social media.

All the while, though, he was referring to the film as the "Untitled Han Solo movie". The LEGO Movie filmmakers Chris Miller and Phil Lord were originally hired to make it, but were fired midway through production amid creative disputes with Lucasfilm.

Since it's so obvious, it just raises questions of why it took so long to reveal.

The delay also feels particularly frustrating given the fact that Rogue One's title was announced more than a year before that movie's release, and was for a brief period one of the only pieces of information actually known about the project.

At least this explains why the (actual) working title for the film was Red Cup.

The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thandie Newton.

I hope none of these ideas are what Solo: A Star Wars Story are about but I have a feeling Redlettermedia is closer than farther from the truth. Which means we're likely to see a first trailer by the end of the year.

Some have suggested riffing on Indiana Jones and going full pulp: Han Solo and the Spice Mines of Kessel/ ...and the Scum of Villainy/ ...and the Unnecessary Origin Story That's a Cash Grab.
