Roy Price has resigned as head of Amazon Studios after being suspended from the streaming company amid a sexual harassment scandal, TheWrap has learned.

The Hollywood Reporter last Thursday reported an allegation by Isa Hackett, a producer on one of Amazon.com Inc's shows, that Price had lewdly propositioned her in 2015. In Price's absence, Amazon Studios COO Albert Cheng was named interim president, and sources say he is expected to remain in the role has head of the studio. Under Price, Amazon launched shows including "Catastrophe", "Bosch", and the Emmy-winning "Transparent". Amazon has yet to comment on Price's resignation.

Price's fiancée, Lila Feinberg, called off their November wedding on Sunday.

"I can confirm Roy Price resigned from Amazon", an Amazon spokeswoman said in an emailed statement, without providing any additional information.

The allegations surfaced as revelations of decades of alleged abuse of women by mogul Harvey Weinstein flooded Hollywood.

Hackett said that Price started making lewd comments during a cab ride to the party - and continued even after she told him she's a lesbian with a wife and children, the magazine reported.

"I hope we all continue to inspire each other and ultimately create change", Hackett said. Amazon Studios has since grown into an original TV show and film studio.

The actors and Russell said they agreed with Amazon Studios to stop work on the untitled series that was being produced by The Weinstein Co.
