New York Giants star wide receiver was carted off the field in today's loss against the Los Angeles Chargers. Beckham appeared to suffer a gruesome left ankle injury during a 27-22 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.

And then it was veteran quarterback Eli Manning, who dropped back on the very next play, succumbed to the pressure of defensive end Melvin Ingram and fumbled the ball on his way to the turf. The 0-5 Giants could be in a position to target Eli Manning's successor in the 2018 draft if they continue on this bad trend. Odell Beckham and Roger Lewis are the Giants' only two healthy receivers, literally. The Giants announced both players have been ruled out for the remainder of the game.

The Giants' playoff hopes were probably gone before kickoff, but any extended absence of Marshall and Shepard would put whatever little optimism remained concerning the season's remainder to rest.

Beckham had five catches for 95 yards and a touchdown before he was hurt.
