The Algerian cancelled out Nacer Chadli's stunning free kick with his first league goal of the season to make sure the points were shared at the King Power Stadium.

The match was hampered by a swirling wind and it was nearly more about Ophelia than Shakespeare for a while but the Leicester manager's late changes, particularly the introduction of Islam Slimani and Ben Chilwell, provided the platform for Mahrez, frustrating the West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis.

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez, center, breaks through West Bromwich Albion's Grzegorz Krychowiak and Kieran Gibbs, right, during the English Premier League soccer match at the King Power Stadium, Leicester, England, Monday, Oct. 16, 2017.

Pulis is quietly pleased that he has had an extra day to prepare for the upcoming fixture with the former Premier League champions, as it has allowed him extra time to see who would be available for West Brom selection, with Hal Robson-Kanu and James Morrison a doubt.

Chances were few and far between in a first-half that was very much "to me to you" in terms of the two teams giving possession away sloppily.

"We've got one or two knocks", he told the club's official website.

Leicester broke through Kelechi Iheanacho and their progress was halted by Jonny Evans foul on Jamie Vardy for a free-kick that brought the first involvement by either goalkeeper.

42' - VARDY CHANCE - Slow build-up play from Leicester. Albrighton picks up Simpson on the right.

63' - GOAL! Leicester 0-1 West Brom. He drives to the touchline, pulls one back to Mahrez in the area, and he leans back to lift a shot well over the bar. Chadli scores - Chadli rifles a shot over the wall from 30 yards out, curling it away and then towards the top corner, leaving Schmeichel wrong-footed and static as the ball hits the net. It's worked left, Fuchs slides the ball to Chilwell, and his cross to the back post is headed back by Slimani to Mahrez, who chests the ball and sends it across Myhill for his first league goal of the season.

Now, Leicester has dropped into the bottom three, two points from safety and on just six from eight games, though it has had a tough schedule.

Chadli, meanwhile, started his first league game of the season wide left after receiving an injection in his back last week.
