Carolina Panthers fan punches 62 year-old man in face

A Panthers fan who turned violent during Carolina's 28-23 loss to the Eagles was caught on camera Thursday night, and on Friday by the authorities.

In a viral video posted on Instagram, the unnamed Eagles fanatic reportedly asks the Panthers devotee and his girlfriend, who'd been standing most of the game, to sit down. The 62-year-old man was seen holding his face with blood dripping from it. The Instagram user says the man - identified by police as Maraghy - and woman, wearing Panthers gear were standing for the entire game and the situation escalated through the game.

After throwing several punches and leaving the fan bloodied, the man and woman quickly left their seats.

"After that, the lid was off".

On Friday, the Carolina Panthers released an official statement about the incident, saying they have identified them man throwing the punches.

"The dude took offense to the couple never sitting down and obstructing his view", Carrigan wrote. "The victim telling the dude bro how they're being jerks and how rude they are for not sitting". He said both he and the victim were wearing Panthers gear.

After reviewing the footage, officers arrested Kyle Adam Maraghy and on suspicion of simple assault, KTLA sister station WGHP in Greensboro, North Carolina, reported. It's unclear if the aggressor in the fight was arrested. 'We have robust security plans in place at all of our games.

"We take all of these very seriously", the league said, according to NFL Network.
