On third down of the opening possession of the game, Winston took a hit from Cardinals outside linebacker Chandler Jones and fell awkwardly onto his right shoulder.

Despite a valiant comeback effort, the Buccaneers fell to the Cardinals, 38-33, in Arizona on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, the Saints called Peterson a ideal fit for their backfield, but the veteran rusher failed to show his form that made him the Vikings' all-time career rushing leader with 11,747 yards and 97 touchdowns. There was a lot of emotion Sunday with Adrian Peterson and the crowd and that adrenaline helps.

"I'm excited to see us continue just to see what else [coach Bruce Arians] comes up with, the wrinkles that we haven't had because we haven't had Adrian Peterson - and there's only one of those in the league", Palmer said.

"For me, I never lost focus".

Peterson capped his inaugural game in Arizona with 26 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns, gaining more yards in his first two quarters with the Cardinals (85) than he did in four games with the Saints (81) before being traded last Tuesday.

It was unveiled in front of them Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Larry Fitzgerald had 138 yards and a touchdown. "That's why we did get a veteran backup, though". It wasn't flawless, but the return of left tackle D.J. Humphries and left guard Alex Boone, along with Earl Watford taking over at right guard clearly made a difference. If P2 is down, the Cards will feel it, although Peterson insisted he will be ready to play against the Rams next week That was a big part of the fourth-quarter problems Sunday. The Buccaneers haven't forgotten their 40-7 loss to the Cardinals during the 2016 season. He finally left for good after three straight incompletions in the second quarter.

"Not concerned at all", he said. Koetter said X-rays were negative. An MRI was planned for Monday. Peterson may not help much if the offensive line doesn't improve.

"I can't help but think what B.A. will come up with when we get T.J. Logan back and Dave back", Palmer said.

The Buccaneers found themselves trailing, 24-0, at halftime.

"It's just one drive at a time", Fitzpatrick said. "We shouldn't be biting our nails off to get that onside kick". The Bucs trailed by as many as 31 points. Defensive lineman Xavier Williams left with a knee injury in the third quarter. "I kept trying to remind him of stuff that was a little bit different, but he just seemed like he absorbed it all week and came out and it was awesome". "I'll be OK for next week for sure".

"I just wanted to do him right".

But Peterson had second thoughts about leaving the game as he watched the Buccaneers pull closer and closer. "I would've toughened it out". But it gives the Cardinals a spark when they needed it, since they were averaging 51.8 rushing yards per game this season.

While the Cardinals held on, the absence of Peterson was noticeable.

"We can be really, really good", Fitzgerald said. I can't think of a mistake he made in all the walkthroughs and the practices all week.
