Book Appointment to Donate Blood for Victims of Mass Shooting

Bonfils Blood Center locations throughout Colorado are asking for help in sending blood to Las Vegas hospitals grappling with the surge of victims from Sunday night's deadly shooting. We stand ready to provide more blood and blood products as needed in response to this tragedy. And show up they did.

People are also being encouraged to donate to the American Red Cross, which accepts donations on its website, by phone in the U.S. at 702-369-3674 or via mail at 1771 East Flamingo Road, #206B, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89119.

On Monday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department shared that those willing to donate blood should visit the Labor Health & Welfare Clinic on 7135 W. Sahara.

"It's really yesterday's blood donors that are todays heroes", said Director for the Regional Blood Center Jennifer Rhamy.

Already, though, the local Las Vegas community and communities across the country are coming forward in solidarity to support and honor those impacted by this senseless shooting. Come out and help anyway you can. "People waiting to donate blood at United Blood Services". But Vice President of Western Division Operations Daren Coats said right now, there isn't a full understanding of the needs of Las Vegas hospitals.

The blood center was flooded with calls and a steady stream of donors.

And at Santa Maria's United Blood Service's Donation Center, phlebotomists say they saw more first-time blood donors on Monday than ever before.

Journalist Yasmeen Hassan‏ said the line to donate blood was "out the door" at one United Blood Services centre in Vegas.

"We are in the process of preparing a shipment of blood and platelets to be sent to them as soon as possible and remain on standby to assist further if needed", according to the news release.
