Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed several key injury updates ahead of their Premier League encounter with Watford this weekend.

The former suffered a muscle injury during Germany's 5-1 win over Azerbaijan and manager Joachim Low's assessment suggested that Mustafi could be facing a long spell on the sidelines with a possible ligament tear.

Wenger confirmed in his press conference on Thursday morning that Mustafi would miss around 4-6 weeks, which wasn't as bad as first feared, but still means that it is unlikely that he will feature in any of Arsenal's games before the next worldwide break.

The playmaker was rested by Germany during the worldwide break, meaning Ozil could return to action against the Hornets, but faces a battle for a starting spot.

'I didn't expect him to play and Germany had already qualified.

Wenger said forward Danny Welbeck (groin) and midfielder Mesut Ozil (knee) had recovered from their injures and were training, while defender Sead Kolasinac had a minor hip problem.

'He didn't play in their first game and we lost him in the second - we have to cope with that now'.

"Koscielny has a definite final test tomorrow". I think about sorting out the problem, but overall I will decide completely tomorrow the line-up because Koscielny will have a test. At the moment, he's not available.

Arsenal could be boosted by the return of Laurent Koscielny against Watford.

Chambers has only played one game this season, in the EFL Cup against Doncaster, but has just been given a new deal by Wenger. "He trained on his own and the signs were positive so we will test him on Friday". Sanchez won't be back with us until tomorrow.
