Law enforcement said they believe Mathews is in grave or immediate danger. She was told by her father, Wesley Matthews, to stand near a tree next to their home for not finishing her milk.

Mathews, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Dallas Morning News, sent his daughter to stand near the large tree across an alley where he had previously seen coyotes, he admitted to investigators.

An Amber Alert was issued Saturday for a missing girl who was abducted from San Francisco, according to the California Highway Patrol. She was last seen wearing black leggings, a pink long-sleeve shirt and pink flip-flops.

Sherin Mathews' father, Wesley Mathews is charged with child endangerment.

WFAA reports the man didn't call police until about five hours after Sherin was last seen.

"We're trying to pick up any type of scent, or items of clothing, or anything like that, that might give us a clue she was there", said Perlich.

He said he went outside to check on her about 15 minutes later and she was gone.

He was released Sunday after posting his $250,000 bond.

Investigators have seized three vehicles, cellphones and laptops from the family in an effort to find out what became of Sherin, Perlich said.

A neighbor, who wanted to remain anonymous says the Mathews had trouble conceiving their first child, a 4-year-old girl. There's still no sign of Sherin Mathews.
