Adrian Peterson thanks Jesus for trade, bunks with Larry Fitzgerald

To most people, New Orleans is a prime destination: fabulous food, great weather, and the debauchery of Bourbon Street.

Picture Adrian Peterson in full pads and his New Orleans Saints uniform, kneeling at his locker for a short pregame prayer. So they sent him to Arizona where the running back is still looking to recapture the form that made him one of the league's best players from 2007-2015.

The Arizona Cardinals didn't get any younger at running back with the acquisition of Adrian Peterson.

"Thank you, Jesus", was Peterson's reaction. "I'd be lying to say I didn't want a change of scenery", Peterson told reporters.

Perhaps Peterson should first worry about getting right in 2017.

Although through four games he has only rushed 27 times for 81 yards, there more to see and he sees production in his immediate future. New Orleans thinned out the group by shipping Peterson to the RB-needy Arizona Cardinals for a conditional 2018 sixth-round pick.

"Our relationship, I would say, has been fantastic, and (the trade) was an opportunity really where he was going to obviously get somewhere and be featured more, and I'm happy that that opportunity has come up and we were able to make a trade", Payton said.

Kidding aside, it's fair to wonder what Peterson has left in the tank.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Peterson is "a violent runner who still has it".
