Nupur and Rajesh Talwar have been serving their sentence in Dasna jail in Ghaziabad since November 2013. "They (Talwars) have assured us that they will visit jail to attend to inmates every 15 days even after their release", jail doctor Sunil Tyagi told the news agency.

The Allahabad High Court had, on Friday, acquitted the Talwars of charges of their daughter's murder, setting aside the CBI court's earlier order, in connection with the double murder case that shook the nation in 2008.

Their daughter Aarushi and their help Hemraj were found murdered in their Noida home in 2008. On the other hand, Nupur Talwar has also said that she will make sure that Aarushi and Hemraj's killers are put behind bars. However, a day later the body of Hemraj was found on the terrace of the flat in which the Talwar family lived.

Asked whether the Talwar couple has met since the Allahabad High Court order, jail superintendent Dadhiram Ram said that they were allowed to meet for 10 minutes on Thursday.

Meer Tanvir Ahmad, the counsel for the Talwars, said that the court pointed out that there was a "strong alternative theory" in the case-the one about some outsiders being present in the flat when the murders took place.

The case was initially probed by the Uttar Pradesh police and later, the investigation was handed over to the CBI.
