Why I rejected Manchester United - Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger reveals he rejected the chance to take over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Machester United back in 2002, citing the Gunner's "values" as his reason. "Maybe one day I will get all the contacts I had during my stay at Arsenal and it will make a few chapters, but you should ask Martin Edwards".

The Frenchman, who considered leaving the Emirates at the end of the last season, signed a two-year extension with the north London club.

"When I arrived here we were 80 people, today we are 700".

Bellerin can understand why some supporters want to see Arsenal tread a similar path, but believes Arsene Wenger is right to favour a frugal approach and long-term building over expensive quick fixes.

Arsenal's domestic rival Manchester United won the trophy last year, giving it a route into this year's Champions League.

"Because I love the values of this club and, for me, a club is about values first".

"I always question myself".

"I am always very confidential".

"A lot has changed, but when I came here this club was about values that I love in sport and that's why I'm still in the competition". Yes, of course Man Utd is attractive, but am I happy here?

Morgan has had plenty to say about Wenger in recent years, none of it good, and that is his prerogative I suppose but with his latest snippet I think he has gone too far and is not even being an Arsenal fan at all. Sometimes I cross somebody inside our club who I know, that is quite new.

Arsenal have faced a wealth of criticism over the course of the summer transfer window and heading into the new season, where the Gunners lost two consecutive matches before the global break.
