"The terrorists also snatched two weapons - one INSAS and one AR 41". Sources say terror outfits are pushing young men towards violence and instigating them to prove their capability by carrying out such attacks before joining their ranks.

"We will also ask other construction agencies to get their workers verified by the police, so such attacks can be averted in the future", Jamwal said.

He said that both of them belong to Banihal and were radicalised and motivated during their education days.

However, the new police statement has vindicated the SSB claim that the incident was a militant attack.

The duo, along with Aquib Wahid, son of Abdul Wahid, resident Kaskote were involved in the heinous crime wherein an SSB personnel was martyred and another critically injured. "The arrest is a significant blow to the nefarious designs of anti-national elements who promote and support terrorism in an otherwise peaceful Chenab valley in the state of J&K", he added.

The search of the area and further investigations are under progress.
