Two Pakistani Intruders Gunned Down by BSF in Amritsar

The security forces foiled the infiltration bid on Tuesday.

Pakistani troops have been consecutively violating ceasefire along the International Border from last four days.

"The BSF conducted a joint operation with the Narcotics Control Bureau in Shahpur in Amritsar sector after they witnessed a movement of the smugglers this morning", BSF IG Mukul Goyal said.

Two Pakistani intruders were killed on Wednesday by the Border Security Force (BSF) troops as an infiltration bid was foiled across the International Boundary in Ajnala sector near Amritsar district of Punjab.

The bodies of the two intruders were recovered after the encounter.

Sources in BSF said that around five kg heroin was recovered from the spot, besides arms ammunition and currency from the slain infiltrators. "Taking cover, the fire was appropriately retaliated and infiltrators were neutralized near the fence", the daily quoted a BSF official as stating.

When the troopers challenged the people, they opened fire.

As per reports, searches are underway to look out for more infiltrators and the entire area has been cordoned off by the security forces.
