Target has recalled the room essential 4-drawer dresser due to tip-over and entrapment hazards.

Target is recalling thousands of dressers because they could become unsafe.

Over 175,000 have been sold in the United States, and 3,000 additional units were sold in Canada.

The Minneapolis-based retailer says it has received 12 reports of the dressers tipping over or collapsing, including one incident when a dresser tipped over onto two three-year-old children.

While the US agency reports 12 have tipped, it adds that no injuries have been reported. "The dressers measure 41-7/8" tall by 31-½" wide by 15-11/16" deep.

The recalled dressers can be identified by a model number that is printed on the product's packaging - Model #249-05-0103 (black), Model #249-05-0106 (espresso), or Model #249-05-0109 (maple). "Consumers should return the recalled dresser to any Target store for a full refund".

Consumers are advised to stop using the dressers immediately if the furniture is not properly anchored to the wall.
