In addition to the reform of the United Nations, in particular that of the Security Council, Akbaruddin said that issues of climate change, terrorism, people-centric migration and peacekeeping are other key focus areas for India this year.

Swaraj, who arrived NY last Sunday, spent a major part of her day on Friday giving final touches to her speech, in which if there is any indication, based on her remarks at other multilateral forums and bilateral meetings.

"War crimes" in Jammu and Kashmir, a "campaign of subversion and state-sponsored terrorism" of which Pakistan was a victim, and constant ceasefire violations: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday heaped accusation upon accusation on India in his speech at the UN General Assembly. We have marched ahead, consistently, without pause, in Education, Health and across the range of human welfare. "Let us display our new commitment by reaching agreement on the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism this year itself", Swaraj said. Denmark is also the partner country for the World Food India extravaganza, which is going to take place in the first week of November. While we are fighting poverty, Pakistan is busy fighting us.Pakistan should not preach about humanity to us. But the real rebuke came-as it had to-from India's foreign minister, Sushma Swaraj, during her speech at the UNGA on Saturday (Sept. 23). She used the United Nations platform to laud PM Modi's signature initiatives - from Jan Dhan to demonetisation, which she called a courageous and bold initiative to argue that successive governments had worked for further development in contrast to Pakistan. But what has Pakistan offered to the world and indeed to its own people apart from terrorism? "Pakistan's Prime Minister must answer why his nation spurned this offer", she said.

"We produced scholars, doctors, engineers".

In her meeting with the Denmark Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen, discussion was held on when to hold the next meeting of the Joint Commission.

Swaraj said India stood with Mexico in this hard time.

"If that happens it will be a significant achievement", she said. "If we are serious, then the least we can do is produce one text that can be the basis for negotiation", Swaraj said in her address to the UN General Assembly.
