Stefon Diggs turned his game into a giant tribute to Randy Moss

To make matters even better, Diggs wasn't even done there in the first half, as he would pull in another score right before halftime hit.

Peterson got the first two carries of the game and picked up a first down, but he was silent afterward as the Saints' offense - which led the National Football League with an average of 426 yards per game past year - had little room to run and few open receivers.

After Diggs' first touchdown - the culmination of a three-play explosive passing drive - he spun the ball in celebration the way Moss had done before.

In his return to Minnesota to face the team he played with for 10 seasons, Adrian Peterson didn't achieve his ultimate goal of "walking away with a W". Diggs mimicked Moss' "splitting the defense" celebration upon catching an 18-yard touchdown after the Saints bit on a play-action fake.

New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees was 27 of 37 for 291 yards and one touchdown.

He caught seven of the eight passes Bradford threw his way, turning two of them into touchdowns and finishing the night with 93 receiving yards. Hands which hauled in 156TDs and 15,292 yards in 14 seasons. "I think that obviously could fall on me, I need to know who's out there, personnel, so I'll take that responsibility".

Minnesota took advantage of several New Orleans defensive mistakes the rest of the game, but even with only 10 men on the field to start, the Saints minimized the damage. His six carries matched a career low and his 18 yards were the third-fewest of his career. They played fast. They played confident.

Dalvin Cook, however, made the most of his rookie debut and then some. I thought the tempo was great tonight.
