Real beat City to his signing in the summer of 2013 after agreeing to pay around €30m to lure him away from Malaga.

According to AS, the attacker will now earn a salary of €6m per year, with a release clause of €700m also included in the terms.

Spanish and European champions Real announced on Thursday that Isco has signed a four-year extension to his current contract, which was due to expire at the end of this campaign.

"I used to watch Real Madrid on TV", Marcelona told the club's website.

"Real Madrid C.F. and Isco have agreed to extension of contract of player, which is linked to club until 30 June 2022".

The 29-year-old joined in 2007, making nearly 300 appearances as Real have maintained their status as one of the most successful clubs in world football.

Last week club president Florentino Perez said that the deal was done and that club will make an announcement to make it official in the coming days.

The 29-year-old has won four Liga titles and three Champions Leagues with Madrid and has remained one of the club's most important and consistent players, carving out a legacy to match compatriot Roberto Carlos, who called time on 11 trophy-laden seasons with Real shortly after Marcelo joined.

The Spanish playmaker will appear before the media at the stadium tomorrow after penning his new deal.
