Political patronage may hamper Ryan International school murder probe

The victim named Pradyuman Thakur, a class-II student, whose body was recovered with his throat slit on September 8 around 7:55 am. The police have arrested a bus conductor and have stated that Ashok Kumar tried to sexually abuse the child.

However, Pradhan today said that due to some problem, Ryan Pinto's application was not filed with the high court registry. However, the kid was alive and managed to reach the corridor where the conductor acted like he did not know anything and carried him in the vehicle of the principal to the hospital. An order was issued by the State government on Monday, stating that all campuses of the aforementioned school will be closed till Tuesday.

Ryan International School murder case: Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case believes that evidence in the case was tampered with. Acting on the report of a threemember panel that had indicated lapses, the two top officials of the school management were arrested under section 75 of the Juvenile Justice act, police officials said. We should not be held culpable of a crime where the school itself is a victim of unfortunate circumstances.

Granting the plea, Justice A.S. Gadkari said: "The applicants (the Pinto couple) shall not be arrested till tomorrow (Wednesday)".

The report by the investigative team also highlighted that the CCTV cameras of the school weren't working properly and were not installed everywhere.

Coming back to the incident. Meanwhile, the police arrested 11 people for rioting and setting afire a liquor shop near the school during protests on Sunday.

The Haryana Police will now question the school's driver, gardener and few others to find if there were any accomplices in the murder. The protesters also demanded a CBI probe into the school boy's murder. While former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also echoed the same, Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar also said the government is not averse to recommending the probe by premier investigating agency.

"Totally shocked, horrified, dismayed by the brutal murder of a seven year old child at the Ryan International School, Gurugram & a rape of a three year old by a peon in another school in the national capital".

"When media has been covering the tragic death of a child, Haryana police should have maintained restrain instead of that they unleashed an attack on media persons", CPI leader D. Raja said.
