In the latest issue of the Weekly Edition of Famitsu, Capcom has officially announced that the game is set to release on December 21 in Japan for the PS4 and Xbox One, and on December 13 for the PC.

While there isn't any information on the platforms for the time being, the new Okami HD version, titled Okami: Zekkei in Japan, will have HD and 4K support as well as a reproduction of elements from the original Okami. The original Okami launched for PS2 in 2006, followed by Wii in 2008.

We've also got good news for all you collectors out there: the title will be made available both physically and digitally when it launches on the 12th December in Europe and North America. The visual direction of the game is equally unique, taking inspiration on traditional Japanese ink illustrations and woodcut, watercolor style of art.

Okami has been considered one of Capcom's greatest games. Okami director Hideki Kamiya and producer Atushi Inaba later went on to work at PlatinumGames.

Okami is a unique adventure game that allows players to control the Shinto deity Amaterasu, who has taken the form of a white wolf.
