Japanese automaker Suzuki has unwrapped covers of the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport in the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and it gets the same shade of yellow that was first teased online. The auto was revealed in a shade of yellow, just like the previous Swift Sport's were. The torque-to-weight ratio of the new Swift Sport is approximately 4.2 kg/ Nm. The newcomer abandons the atmospheric 1.6L for a four-cylinder BoosterJet 1.4L turbo direct injection developing 140hp at 5,500 trs / min and 230Nm torque between 2,500 trs / min and 3,500 trs / min. If brought to the Indian market, the Swift Sport would rival the likes of the Fiat Abarth Punto, the Volkswagen Polo GTI and Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS.

A revsied cabin is highlighted by a unique instrument cluster with contrasting coloured dials for the speedo and tacho and additional turbo boost and oil pressure guages, a flat-bottom steering wheel and sports seat with additional side bolstering. The lower and wider stance gives the Swift Sport the vehicle a sporty appeal, more over Suzuki claims that the aggressive styling, and a torque -to-weight ratio that propels the Swift Sport into genuine hot hatch territory.

The Swift's chief engineer Masao Kobori says the vehicle was built to cater to an audience who value driving dynamics over brute straight-line speed.

Thanks to the Heartect platform of the last Swift, this Sport version loses 80kg compared to its predecessor to fall under the tonne with 970kg empty.

"We know that our customers value a dynamic driving experience above everything else, so for the third-generation Swift Sport our development concept was "ultimate driving excitement", Koboro says.

"It's lighter, sharper, quicker. So, we've made the new Swift Sport lighter, faster and more stimulating in every way", he added. Power is sent exclusively to the front wheels of the hot hatch via a six-speed manual. "Everything that puts the driver at the heart of the experience".
