Jeffrey's father, Jerry Sandusky, is serving a sentence of at least 30 years for sexually abusing 10 young boys while he was an assistant at Penn State.

Jeffrey Sandusky's plea deal comes a week before his trial was slated to begin on the charges, and almost six years after his father was arrested in a child molestation case that shook Penn State and is still working its way through criminal and civil courts. In February 2017, J.S. was arrested and charged with 12 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. including multiple counts of child sexual abuse.

Jeffrey Sandusky, a state prison guard, knew the girls through their mother, authorities said.

The crimes were uncovered late past year when a girl told her father that Sandusky had texted her repeatedly, asking her to send him naked photos.

During the investigation, police said they learned that three years earlier, Sandusky had sent a text message to the girl's sister, who was 15 at the time, soliciting oral sex.

As part of the plea deal, Sandusky will spend up to six years in state prison, but the judge could impose as much as eight years.

The victims were 15 and 16 years old at the time of the incidents, which were several years apart, police said. The district attorney's office released a statement saying that Sandusky's plea of guilty will make him a Tier III sex offender. The reports states he told the teen "that it's not weird because he studied medicine". In Pennsylvania, this is the highest level sex offender.

District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller said, "While we were fully prepared to proceed to trial, today's guilty plea to all charges ensures a significant prison sentence for Defendant's solicitation of child sex crimes with two minors that once completely trusted him".
