Five people died Wednesday morning when an air conditioning issue forced the evacuation of a Florida nursing home, reports say.

Sharief said she did not have any details about the causes of death, and that authorities are investigating. The nursing home has apparently been without air conditioning since the storm. A portable generator was still running inside their home.

As of Wednesday morning, a WSVN helicopter was above the scene where officials were continuing to evacuate people from the home.

Following Irma, however, temperatures in Florida got hot and humid.

Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez said about half of the county's traffic signals were out.
