Gareth Bale suffers fresh abuse from supporters

Real Madrid who have dropped points in their two league games at home this season without Cristiano Ronaldo would be breathing long sighs of relief today as their their star man returns in the Champions league.

However, the Portuguese worldwide wasted little time in making his presence felt when he put his side ahead against the weakest side in their group following a move involving Isco and Gareth Bale in the 12th minute of the game.

A lot has to happen for Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo to fall out of the goal-scoring groove.

Though it could have been more with Ronaldo being denied a goal from an offside, having a penalty claimed waved away and hitting the bar from just three yards out - with officials denying the ball crossed the line.

"Cristiano scores so many goals and we really noticed his presence tonight, and I hope he keeps up this run", Ramos told reporters.

Sergio Ramos scored the third goal at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, where Madrid hasn't lost a group-stage game in nearly eight years. Isco and Gareth Bale also went close, but Zidane was content after the game, saying: "We are happy".
