Activists chanting "No justice, no peace" and carrying signs calling for "Justice for Kenneka" marched down River Road near Balmoral, shutting down traffic in the busy entertainment district.

Police in Rosemont planned to show Tereasa Martin, Jenkins' mother, security footage from the hotel on Thursday, though not the full 36 hours.

"We want to be as understanding as we can with the family, particularly the mother", Mack said to the Chicago Sun Times.

Investigators are also analyzing social media content and surveillance footage from 47 cameras at the hotel, the department said, adding that it had sent "certain videos related to this investigation" to specialized forensic technicians for further analysis.

She earlier said, "It's something that no one could ever imagine". They are expected to show her the hotel surveillance footage, which could happen as soon as Thursday.

The Cook County medical examiner has yet to release an official cause of death.

Police are likely waiting on autopsy results before they wrap up their investigation.

The case has been the subject of rampant social-media speculation, which authorities said has slowed down the investigation to a degree.

Police said they have interviewed 12 people who were "involved in some way"-including eight who were present the night or morning of the hotel party Jenkins attended". Jenkins' sister last heard from her via text message about 1:30 a.m. Saturday. An hour later, Martin was at the hotel. Police told Martin that she was intoxicated and let her self into the freezer.

Jenkins was reported missing early Saturday after she left her home in Chicago at 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

She was reported missing by friends nearly 24 hours earlier.

At a news conference in front of the hotel Monday, Martin suggested that police did not seem to be on the right track.

Jenkins' body was eventually found in a walk-in freezer in a vacant part of the hotel, authorities said.

Her family arrived to look for her, after Jenkin's friends called her mother, Tereasa Martin from her cell phone, telling her she could not be found when it was time to leave.

"It takes strength to open these doors, the freezer doors", she told WLS.

He said that she opened two doors in a kitchen area and walked inside of the large freezer before the doors shut behind her.

The video appears to show Jenkins and others on the hotel's ninth floor in the hours before her disappearance. Police are trying to locate and interview four others who were present that night. A dozen people who were at the hotel when Jenkins died are being interrogated, according to the Associated Press.

"After they declared she was dead, when I started asking can I see my baby baby body, and they first denied me", Martin said. After they found my baby dead, they couldn't even help us. Police have said there is no obvious evidence to conclude that foul play was a factor. "Someone in that room knew what happened".
