Nintendo's consoles have often struggled with getting meaningful third party support, but it looks like Bethesda are head over heels in love with the Nintendo Switch.

You won't see anything more than Mario and Link in them because they are created to be easy to monitor rather than setting parental locks and age settings.

The announcement was made during last night's Nintendo Direct presentation alongside a bunch of other surprise announcements.

Doom will be available for the Switch sometime this holiday season, and Bethesda has confirmed to Polygon that it will include the entire single-player campaign as well as multiplayer, however, the two will be separate downloads. This week Nintendo announced that about 100 Nintendo Switch games from independent developers are coming to the popular console. High on violence and gore, it is not the only title to make its way to the platform. Those who purchase the digital version of Bethesda's Nintendo Switch DOOM port will get the whole package at once. This is unless you are on the Switch and have been looking forward to a Doom port onto the console from Nintendo. Users will still be able to play multiplayer. More specific release dates will be announced at a later date.
