Craig Carton, the morning sports talk show host arrested in connection with a multimillion-dollar fake ticket scam, has resigned from WFAN. "With that in mind, I have submitted my resignation to the station and they accepted", Carton said in a statement posted on his Twitter account.

Last week, WFAN morning show host Craig Carton was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on fraud charges, eventually earning himself an indefinite suspension from CBS Radio.

Carton is also thankful for his supporters, especially Boomer Esiason, who said he had a "very somber" conversation with the shock jock on Saturday. Carton was arrested by FBI agents last week after officials say an investigation revealed he bilked investors out of million of dollars in an effort to pay off massive casino debt. "As you can imagine, it's been incredibly hard to be silent while there is an endless stream of vitriol being hurled my way".

On Tuesday he had vowed to fight the charges, saying his fans would see he was not guilty and he'd be back "stronger than ever".

Carton and Upper Saddle River resident Michael Wright were arrested and charged last Wednesday with securities and wire fraud and conspiracy to commit those offenses, said Joon H. Kim, the acting USA attorney for the Southern District of NY.

"Thank you for all the kind words and good wishes", Carton said, "as I continue on with one of the greatest battles of my life".
