Are we one step closer to Afterlife with Archie? The project, like Riverdale, would be worked on under Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions alongside Warner Bros. Well fans can rest easy, and even easier, because not only is Sabrina and her magical powers heading back to screens, it's going to be in her own horror-inspired series.

The potential series would be based on the Archie Comics series "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, ' which reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and witchcraft". No word yet if Salem the talking cat will get a murderous tiger version, but we'll let you know. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is both chief creative officer of Archie comics and Riverdale's showrunner, will be penning the adaptation.

Expect to hear more news about the series, given the success of Riverdale.

We'll see what the network allows, but now that Archie has hooked up with a teacher and Cheryl Blossom has us all wondering about twincest, we're betting Sabrina will have no problem raising all sorts of hell if the show goes forward. The CW revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the Sabrina spinoff will be an hour-long drama about the young witch trying to fit into the mortal world while also fighting off evil, magical forces that threaten her and everyone around her.

There's a chance that the character of Sabrina will be introduced during the upcoming second season of Riverdale. The series is expected for the 2018-2019 season region. Whom do you think would make a great Sabrina? The new series would be specifically based on the comic series "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", which (as the name suggests) is a pretty dark reimagining of the original.
