Meanwhile, CBS Entertainment's executive vice president Jack Sussman told Los Angeles Times that Bruno Mars is "the ultimate live performer" in today's generation.

Mars serves as executive producer for the show, along with One Direction bud Ben Winston, who calls Mars "the greatest performer in the world".

Bruno Mars is gearing up for his first solo television special at New York's iconic Apollo Theater for a primetime feature set to air on November 29. He said that he defines event television, without forgetting to pay tribute to the rich tradition and history of the field.

"Mars was spotted treating attendees to live performances of his singles 'That's What I Like" and "24K Magic" atop the Apollo's landmark marquee.
