Billie Lourd Opens Up About Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds 'Surreal' Deaths

The 25-year-old actress visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday where she talked about her acting and emotionally opened up about the tragic loss of her mother, Carrie Fisher and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds. It has to be noted that The Ellen DeGeneres Show was also the last public appearance of the Stars Wars legend before passing away on Christmas in 2016.

"Yeah, it's completely surreal". If I say that I'm doing good, I'm too happy.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show Monday, Lourd said Abrams turned to her to read for Rey before he landed the actress who would come to embody the role.

Fisher and Lourd's father, Bryan Lourd, were always reluctant about the idea of their daughter going into acting but it actually came about in the form of a role in #StarWars.

"He ended up finding Daisy Ridley. [I ended up with a] tiny role with a couple of lines". I was super excited.

The actress explained that she feels like it was an wonderful experience to act with her mom and believes it happened for a reason.

Lourd said she knew she found her calling because of the comfort level she immediately felt on the set of The Force Awakens. This is one of the most uncomfortable environments in the world. "If you're comfortable here, you should do this, '" she recalled. About not being cast as Rey, Billie Lourd had this to say. Since that time, she has appeared on the Fox series Scream Queens and will be a featured player in the new season of American Horror Story.
