Liverpool welcome Sevilla to Anfield on Wednesday evening for their first Champions League group match of the season.

Coutinho missed the first five matches of Liverpool's season, but was able to make two substitute appearances for Brazil over the worldwide break.

Mellor thinks Liverpool will make no mistake against Sevilla and should have 2016's Europa League final defeat at the hands of the Spaniards in their minds.

Karius has only played two European matches in his entire career so far, both of which came in a Europa League play-off against Greek side Asteras Tripolis in the summer of 2014; Mainz lost 3-2 on aggregate.

Here we look at some of the talking points ahead of the game. Much has changed since then - Sevilla's manager for one - but nine of the Liverpool players in the squad that night are expected to be involved this time around and facing the Spanish opposition again could reopen old wounds.

Klopp, though, has no concerns about putting a relative novice in goal for one of the club's biggest nights in recent years. "We have matches next Wednesday, next Saturday - we play, play, play, so we thought "Let's give him three or four days" proper training - and then he's available for us'".

"I think they will be looking forward to putting it right". Klopp insisted after the Gunners game he had no qualms about swapping his goalkeepers - but it would be a major vote of confidence in his 24-year-old compatriot to prefer him for the club's return to Europe's elite competition.

Jurgen Klopp put his squad through their paces at Melwood this afternoon but the Reds confirmed on Liverpoolfc.com that Salah was unable to take part after being sent home due to illness.
