Apple's Watch 3 rolls out heart health and smart fitness features

Apple's new Apple Watch 3, with a swathe of new capabilities including built-in cellular, is expected to stoke the smartwatch market.

Apple Watch is now the number 1 watch in the world, above Rolex, Fossil, Omega, Cartier claims Cook.

He said "The Apple Watch is created to help people stay active and motivated so they can have a better day".

As such, all of this information is all part of the Apple Heart Study. Apple has not yet announced the Australian or United Kingdom prices for the device.

The watch will also be swimproof, and have Global Positioning System included. Now there will be more focus on movement and exercise motivation with features including prompts to move, "inspiration" cards that tell you how much more exercise you need to do to reach your daily goal, monthly activity challenges based on your exercise history, and new celebration animations when you achieve a goal.

The watches are priced from US$329 in the US.

The company also said it was making advancements to its heart rate app for the Watch, with new measurements including a person's resting heart rate and their recovery heart rate.
