WhatsApp intros colorful text-based status features for Android and iOS users

But it seems that the messaging service is still not ready to give up on its feature inspired by Snapchat which allows users to post a story as their status on the messaging app, and like Stories on other platforms, the status update vanishes after 24 hours. The feature is similar to how it works on Facebook, where users can add a coloured background when uploading a text based status update.

The company has released this new updates for its iOS and Android users. And now with the recent updates, users cannot only include a colorful background to update its status but can also include links to its status.

Now you never have to worry about getting the word out to all your family and friends. While Status debuted as a text-only feature, it grew to include photos and videos.

The new feature is available on iPhone and Android phones, though we are yet to spot the coloured-text background on our phones. The same will also show a caption for the user's WhatsApp contacts that lasts 24 hours as well. There are following three options: "my contacts", "contacts except" and "only share with".

WhatsApp's much-awaited Recall feature could soon be a reality. The recall or revoke button would allow users to delete the sent messages from both ends.
