Ibrahimovic - who had won league titles with every club he had played for before joining United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain a year ago - has made clear that he was disappointed to finish sixth with Mourinho's team last season.

Last season the Red Devils managed to win 2 trophies excluding the Community Shield but finished a lowly 6th in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Manchester United are in talks with Zlatan Ibrahimovic about signing for the second part of the season. "But I think naturally a manager in the second season knows the club and players better". Last campaign was full of too many inconsistences and Bilic will know he needs to start picking up points fast if he wants to prevent the exit rumours circulating once more. "But I will behave on the touchline, even if goals are offside", he said. Collecting a short pass from Brian McClair, he launched an incredible shot over Neil Sullivan, who was off his line, and the ball dipped under the bar to register one of the most memorable goals in Premier League history. I was thinking, three transfer windows, I need that.

"I'm happy with the club's efforts. We can't afford to go two goals down anymore, this is a season where Jose has to put everything out there, he can't hold back".

He added: "We are going to try to give a hard fight to the top teams in Europe in the Champions League".

"There's no chance they can be as good at home, but I also don't think they could be as bad away".

Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young are injured.

Matic has helped Chelsea win the Premier League title in two of the last three seasons.

"For us it's just another game, a game we look forward to - these are the kind of games players want to play", Fonte concluded.

Fans do expect a better title challenge. That is normal, but that is not enough.

"I don't think I'm in a position of crying, moaning, protesting".

Not exactly showing the most imagination between them they have named five clubs as the ones to go down this time. Mourinho's team was outclassed by Real Madrid mid-week but there were signs the team were starting to gel together and perhaps one more world-class signing will make them a force to be reckoned with again.

"The top players are dependable".
