Many pundits are tipping Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City to have strong seasons, but it's really hard to predict who will take the title.

Pep Guardiola believes that top clubs are forced to pay over the odds for quality players but says the premium is even greater when dealing with Premier League clubs. Hopefully next season I will be here and we are not going to spend how we spent this season.

'The last six, seven years City never bought full backs.

Huddersfield Town - Aaron Mooy has been one of its big signings and he was terrific last season, but it's going to be a tough one in the Premier League for it. Make no mistake, for teams like Huddersfield success is staying up. We bought three and the market is so demanding for all the teams, not just City.

Mendy also struggled with injuries last season but still managed to make 25 Ligue 1 appearances for Monaco as Leonardo Jardim's side won France's top flight, contributing five assists.

"I'm so grateful - thanks so much to the club for picking him up", Guardiola said.

"Now I'm ready to go back to this league and show everyone that I'm back".

His technical limitations should be less exposed in the rampaging Premier League, and there are few better coaches in the world to address his positional troubles than Pep.

"Pablo [Zabaleta], [Bacary] Sagna, [Aleksandar] Kolarov and [Gael] Clichy - all of them they are more than 33 years old and they don't have the legs to go up and down".

Townsend told Press Association Sport: "It will be a tough season ahead, but I have a feeling Brighton will survive, probably by the skin of their teeth".

The Two-time Premier League winners have focused on bolstering their defence, with the aim of dethroning defending Champions Chelsea this season.

But those deals pale in comparison to City's spending and Hughton said: "Whatever City's starting team is against our starting team, there's no doubt there is going to be an incredibly massive difference".

Yet he said: "It's the same pressure as I had last season".

"The club was clever like that because we anticipated what we needed after last season and we will try to do our best".

As midfielder Ilkay Gundogan inches back to full fitness after missing most of last season due to injury, Guardiola said he will take no risks with the Germany global. If we do something good this season it's because we were together last season, and we know better, and I know better, and they know me better, and that's why it's easy.

'If we don't win the games then maybe we're not here any more.

SHIRT SLEEVE SPONSORSThe upcoming campaign will see Premier League clubs allowed shirt-sleeve sponsors for the very first time, although only the right sleeves will be used.
