These questions were answered on Pittsburgh's way to a 20-12 Preseason Week One victory. On third-and-seven Watt took down quarterback Josh Johnson for a three-yard loss, forcing the Giants to punt. Some good. Some bad.

It was a mixed bag, according to Ben McAdoo. Johnson's role on this team is primarily as a lead blocker, so if McGee can prove to be comparable in a younger and cheaper package, there's no reason Pittsburgh wouldn't consider it. Fans are hoping he will be there when the regular season gets going. The Steelers have been looking for a pass rusher, and they may have found the one of the future in TJ Watt.

"Running the ball, it doesn't matter who's behind us and protecting", Pugh said. "Just to come here, be with a great defense, and have the older guys just keep helping you get better each and every day, it's just a great feeling".

In the entire first half, the Giants accumulated 46 rushing yards on 13 attempts.

"I could've maybe had some better steps on the block". "And Coach learns those things, too, and what they like to get called in certain situations".

"It was really positive, but not unlike what he's shown us on the fields of Latrobe", Tomlin said.

Preseason Week 1: Replaced Bobby Hart in 2 quarter. "Back to work on Sunday". Rhett Ellison started the game at tight end and caught three balls for 20 yards. Lewis stepped out of bounds on one and was blanketed by Pittsburgh cornerback Ross Cockrell on the other. Johnson was 5 of 10 for 31 yards. Time will need to short this out, but Smith and Webb may have increased their stock.

Friday's preseason opener has been a mixed bag for former Tennessee QB Josh Dobbs.

He admitted to being "amped up" for his first play, a slant route that he whipped well over the head of wide receiver Kevin Norwood. Two of those went for first downs.

On the next series, Smith has an interception wiped out due to a holding penalty. A second interception in the second half was overturned. "That's exclusively on me". He would finish the four-year span with a total of 9852 yards, throwing 83 touchdown passes with only 34 interceptions. The Ole Miss product responded with some big practices in training camp, including catching a touchdown to win a two-minute drill, but Friday night was all about translating it to game speed. "Obviously, there's going to be general soreness from playing the game and having that many reps - more than being accustomed to".

"At the same time I felt like I belong here". Aldrick's were from distances of 27 and 52 yards.

Scoring Play: Mike Nugent 30-yard field goal. Finally, players such as Knile Davis, Arthur Moats, and Miles Hilton came to play and made cases for advancement in the team's plans for 2017. Shepard, Tavarres King, Kevin Snead, Ryan Murphy, Mark Herzlich, Keenan Robinson and Robert Thomas were all out with injuries. Giants veteran S Duke Ihenacho pulled a hamstring in the second quarter and did not return.
