At its core, the line-up has hardly changed, with 113bhp 1.6-litre and 148bhp 2.0-litre diesels, and equivalent petrol engines notable because they offer near-identical Carbon dioxide emissions. Regarding the transmission options, the SUV includes a 6-speed manual gearbox alongside a 7-speed DSG unit.

The facelift version of the Octavia is on its way to India and will be launched by the end of August this year.

As far as equipment goes, the Skoda Octavia RS for India will get more aggressive body kit, blacked-out trim bits and larger alloy wheels to make it look different from the regular Octavia. It will also sport LED headlamps with DRLs (daytime running lights), tail lamps, fog lamps, steel exhaust tips and a tailgate spoiler. Safety will be covered by nine airbags, ESP and a park-assist system.

Under the bonnet, the Rapid is expected to carry forward the same 110hp 1.5-litre engine that is also found on the Ameo. All engines are offered with DSG, but there's no sub-100g/km Greenline version at the moment. According to reports, Skoda dealerships have already started taking bookings for the Skoda Kodiaq SUV and it is going to be launched in India soon.

Mechanically, the Rapid Monte Carlo will remain the same and continue with the 1.5-litre diesel unit and 1.6-litre MPI petrol motor as well.

In addition to the three launches, Skoda, in a bid to make its aftersales and service process more transparent, has announced new service initiatives that can be used by customers via the new MySkoda app.
