Ryan Adams Launches Assault Against the Strokes on Twitter

In it, there's mention of the time The Strokes had a band meeting to ban former pal Adams from hanging around - mostly because guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. was suffering from drug addiction and Ryan Adams, y'know, wasn't exactly helping.

There is no confirmation that the twitter storm was a result of Adams reading the book or hearing about it, but it certainly looks much more likely after this comment from Ryan just before we published this article.

He later tweeted about Casablancas, saying, "Julian Casablancas: who got you strung out on lasagna tho?"

"I remember Julian threatening to beat Ryan [Adams] up if he hung out with me, as a protective thing", Hammond Jr. recalled in the book.

"He'd heard that Ryan would come and give me heroin, so he was just like, 'If you come to my apartment again with heroin, I'm going to kick your ass.' I hadn't really been doing it in baggie form until Ryan showed up". However, Albert, Jr. has revealed on Twitter that a new album from the band is "years away", as nothing came of their work with Rick. "I can't remember the details, to be honest", Casablancas said. "I'd been wanting to do heroin since I was 14 years old". It can take a persons soul away. If anything, I really felt like I had an eye on him in a way that they never did.

At Metro.co.uk we believe the album would be successful for sure - if the band were actually making it, a point which was later cleared up by Albert Hammond Jnr on Monday in a series of Tweets.

Last week (end29Jul17) Albert's father, producer and songwriter Albert Hammond, Sr., said the indie rock legends had been working with Rick in the studio to create their first full-length record since 2013. "I loved him so deeply". Adams has denied the claims. I remember being incredibly anxious about him, even after I continued to do speedballs.
