Pounds of Meth Seized; 13 Year Old Driver Among those Arrested

Investigators said all three men are from the Los Angeles area.

The suspects were arrested after authorities with the Western Colorado Drug Task Force seized 25 pounds of methamphetamine from their vehicle during a traffic stop on I-70, and the 13 year old was driving the auto.

The driver, their 13-year-old cousin, Israel Arreola, was charged with failing to stay in a designated lane and driving without a license.

The driver was identified as 13 year old Israel Arreola.

A sheriff deputy with the Western Colorado Drug Task Force stopped the Dodge Avenger on Interstate 70 in Mesa County on Tuesday, KTLA sister station KDVR in Denver reported.

The deputy wrote in the report that all three seemed nervous, and asked each of them separately for permission to search the auto.

A search of the vehicle found 23 packages of methamphetamine.

All three face charges of distribution, manufacturing, and possession with intent to sell. The juvenile was booked into the Grand Mesa Youth Services Center in Grand Junction.

German and Irene were being held at the Mesa County Jail.
