Police summon Bigg Boss Contestant

In his complaint, the advocate has said that Oviya allegedly made an unsuccessful bid to end her life in the Bigg Boss Tamil house on the episode aired on 4 August on Vijay TV, reports The Hindu.

None of the female contestants have created buzz around the show that Bigg Boss is reportedly looking to rope in some glam babes who can stir a few controversies to make things spicier.

Her suicide attempt was telecast on TV to garner TRP ratings for the show and the channel, the petitioner also claimed.

Nazarathpet police Inspector Jaichandran said preliminary investigation is under way.

The controversial show is hosted by actor Kamal Haasan. "We spoke to Oviya's personal secretary, who denied that she attempted suicide", the daily quotes Oviya's secretary as saying. The actress has gained vast popularity from Kamal Haasan-hosted show and there are rumours that she might be back on the show soon. Seven housemates have been nominated and one of them has to pack his bags and leave the Bigg Boss house. Till then check out the list of contestants who been nominated for elimination.

In another instance, the Tamil Nadu Isai Vellalar Ilaignar Nala Sangam had served legal notices to Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Star Vijay for "defaming" the community.

A PIL was also filed in the Madras High Court asking the show to be stopped from being produced immediately as the sartorial choices and behaviour of women contestants is "vulgar and obscene".
