Paulini Curuenavuli Could Face Jail Time Following Bribery Charges

According to Sunrise, the 34-year-old allegedly bribed a NSW Roads and Maritime Services employee with a sum of $800 in return for a fake, unrestricted NSW driver's licence, despite being unqualified to drive.

There's no word yet if the charges will affect her appearance in the show.

'We would like to reassure patrons that the show will go on.

"The Bodyguard has only just learned of the allegations this morning".

Paulini at rehearsals for The Bodyguard in March. News Corp reports that she then allegedly transferred money into the bank account of the RMS employee.

It is alleged Paulini was not a fully qualified driver prior to receiving the licence.

It is understood she is aware of the "gravity of the charges she is facing", her lawyers said.

There is no suggestion that Paulini is involved in any bikie activity.

She is due to attend Mount Druitt Court on August 16, where she, if convicted, would face a maximum of seven years in prison.

The RMS employee, however, was sentenced to serve one year in home detention as she was pregnant at the time of her ruling.

Paulini, who has been charged with corruptly giving or offering benefit to a [government] agent, faces seven years behind bars.

A spokesperson for NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia Vaifale no longer works for RMS. She's now the star of The Bodyguard Musical in Brisbane where she plays the lead role of Rachel Marron.

The singer first shot to fame in 2003, placing fourth in the first season of Australian Idol.
