The update is supposed to bring a few new features that weren't available in the HTC U11 at launch, such as improved video recording and connectivity features. The handset sports a 5.5 inches Quad HD Super LCD 5 display with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Adreno 540 GPU, and 6GB RAM. The device still feature thick top and bottom bezels as well as a fingerprint sensor and a capacitive home button. The leaked image of the phone suggests that its frontside resembles with HTC U11 and HTC 10 from the previous year. What makes this mid-range smartphone compelling is that it will be packing the same Edge Sense technology that can be found on its larger sibling the U11.

On the optics front, the Ocean Life aka HTC U11 Lite is likely to feature a 16MP rear-facing main camera as well as a 16MP selfie camera on the front. Edge Sense is the new unique feature that HTC first introduced with the HTC U11 flagship.

Under the hood, the HTC U11 Life is said to feature mid-range specs.

The U11 Life was previously revealed in a report that detailed its specifications and had the code-name Ocean Life. The phone will come with 32GB of storage, expandable with a microSD card. This means that the handset should survive being submerged up to 3.3 feet of static water for up to 30 mins. And it has also been reported that it will come with IP67 certification and a pair of HTC USonic earbuds with active noise cancellation, within the box. It is justified since most of the smartphones these days ditch the headphone jack and come with a USB Type-C port instead.

Now, fresh information says that the HTC Ocean Life is actually the codename of the HTC U11 Lite.
