How to get Android Oreo now, if you have a compatible device

Well, first, Google is pushing the final version of Oreo to those in the Android Beta Program today, and it's also published new system images which can be manually flashed onto supported devices.

The first developer preview of Android O was released at the Google I/O in the spring of 2017.

Adaptive Icons: Android 8.0 Oreo OS introduces adaptive icons, which means that the OS will automatically adjust the icons in a manner that suits the needs of the user.

The internet giant teased "some super sweet new powers" with Android O in an eclipsed-themed countdown website.

Google also took advantage of the first solar eclipse in 99 years that will sweep the US from coast to coast, using this uncommon solar event as an opportunity to launch Android 8.0 Oreo for maximum impact and lightheartedly pointing out the visual similarities between a total eclipse and an Oreo. This feature will perform a series of actions to try to resolve the problem. It is one of the tiniest event that Google hosted in recent years for the launch of any Android veresion. Emoji: Android Oreo is getting the fully redesigned emoji set, including over 60 new emoji.

There's no official date for when other Android-powered devices will receive the update.

Google added it has also been working to make Android Oreo available for Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global (Nokia), Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony.
