Hearthstone's Knights Of The Frozen Throne Expansion Is Now Live

In card form! As part of Knights of the Frozen Throne, the new expansion for Blizzard's Hearthstone.

The theme explores an alternative branch in the lore where Arthas, the Lich King, managed to defeat the heroes of Warcraft at the grand battle at Icecrown Citadel. The expansion is live in the Americas (and coming soon in the rest of the world), so go enjoy the chill. "But when faced with the unholy fury of the Lich King himself, what happens when the heroes fall from the light?"

Knights of the Frozen Throne takes players to Northrend, where they'll meet an untimely demise, only to be raised by the Lich King and granted terrifying new powers from beyond the grave. Plus, three free Knights of the Frozen Throne packs for everyone that logs in between now and November 1.

It's also worth remembering that Blizzard has changed its card pack rules, so expect to see fewer duplicates and no duplicate Legendaries anymore. What that means is that the 50 card-pack you may have already preordered for $50 will be available to discover on that day, right alongside a new card back. If you haven't heard much about the expansion yet (which I'd find surprising given all the reveals), Frozen Throne brings the evil influence of the Lich King to the game, transforming the cards and even the heroes into abominations. Players now have the chance to win Knights of the Frozen Throne card packs as quest rewards or prizes in the Arena, and can also craft cards from the expansion by using Arcane Dust collected from disenchanting unwanted cards.
