Paris is most likely going to be the host of the 2024 #Summer Olympics, as on July 11 the International Olympic Committee (#IOC) approved a proposal to elect the host of the 2024 and 2028 games at the same time.

The vote clears the way for Paris to host the 2024 Games.

eSports are what competitive video gaming has come to be known as, with them covering a variety of games and genres.

France's bid committee co-president Tony Estanguet told the Associated Press that a conversation will be held to discuss the merits of including the digital "sport", which is rapidly growing in popularity. It's not about Olympics.' The youth, yes they are interested in esport and this kind of thing. Let's look at it. Let's meet them.

What began in the 1970s (the earliest known video game competition took place in 1972 at Stanford University) grew through the '90s, thanks to increasing Internet connectivity.

It was Los Angeles that initially floated the idea for including eSports in the Olympics The current issue with the event is that it has witnessed a decline in viewers between the ages 18 and 49. "Let's try if we can find some bridges", said Estanguet. By 2022, it will become an official sport at the event, although it is unknown which games would be contested.

"There is some time to look at it, to interact, to engage", Estanguet told the AP.

The discussions on the sports that will be part of the Olympic Games 2024 will be launched in 2019, but nothing will be definitely decided before 2020, or after the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

While the Paris bid committee seems to have an open mind when it comes to eSports, the IOC's president, Thomas Bach, seems a little more cynical. "The IOC will have the last say, if they want esports on the program".
